Skye was born in 1972 and cruised the open roads of New Mexico until we made her part of our New York family in 2018. She’s a lovingly-restored, sunny, wanderlust seeking, bespoke beauty that makes heads turn and onlookers smile. She’s also the life of the party! Skye would love to breeze on in to your next social event. Weddings, parties, corporate events, fundraisers - you name it, she’s there!
Hi! I am Marissa Mitchell and this is my husband, Mike. We are the founders of VW Picture Bus. My love for Volkswagens goes back to my first car and the car I learned to drive in…a 1995 manual VW Jetta…and the VW bus my dad owned during my high school and college years. Between that and my fondness for all things vintage, I was inspired to purchase a 1972 VW bus and make a business out of it! Fortunately, my hubby Mike is equally as crazy and was 110% into the plan. We met in the TV industry and used our knowledge of photography, videography, and technology to build the professional-level photo booth we have now.
I can be found attending story time at the library with my toddler, preparing for baby #2 arriving in early 2019, tutoring elementary school students, making yummy food with the veggies from our CSA, and cruising around Westchester County New York in our bus! I am also a member of Westchester’s Rising Tide Society and feel passionate about the local entrepreneur community. My family and I live in Somers, NY and feel very lucky to create memorable moments for a living!
